Los Danzantes (2024)
An exploration of the mythical figure of the luchador. Through selected frames, the wrestlers move in a rhythmic choreography, their bodies and gestures flowing together. Freed from social taboos, they create personas, wearing masks and stockings, engaging in a dance that challenges conventional takes on the macho figure.
Beneath these performances, vulnerability, tenderness, and affection are expressed between men, forming a sense of intimacy through playful insults and punches. Each match carries tension and release, a climax that resonates both within the ring and among the audience, creating a dynamic interplay between tradition and subversion.
